Transcripts


Only official transcripts are available through the University Registrar online. Each transcript has the signature of the Registrar and the University seal. If multiple transcripts are requested to be mailed to a third party at a single address, they are packaged together in one envelope and are not signed or sealed (stamped) across the flap.  If mailed directly to the student, transcripts are packaged individually and sealed across the flap.  Attachments may accompany transcripts.  We do not fax transcripts (faxed transcripts are not official and the University cannot ensure confidentiality for any faxed documents).

All transcript requests are normally processed within 2 business days. Please allow additional processing time for records prior to 1990.  The Office of the University Registrar offers several different methods by which a transcript may be released to a third party.  It is possible to stipulate that transcripts be withheld until grades and/or degrees have been posted. Effective Fall 2013, there is no longer a per transcript fee cost.

  • All financial obligations to Emory University must be cleared before transcripts can be released.
  • A Special delivery (rush ordering) handling fee will be assessed for express mail service.
  • Hold for Pickup Paper Transcripts are no longer a service offered at Emory University.

Online Requests:

Current Students: If you are a current student, you can order your transcript online through OPUS.

Alumni (2000 – present): If you attended from 2000 – present, you can order your transcript online through OPUS. If you do not remember your ID and/or password, or attended prior to 2005, contact OPUSHELP@listserv.cc.emory.edu to have your account activated or reset.

Alumni (prior to 2000): If you attended prior to 2000, you can order your transcript online through our Transcript Ordering Service.


Written Requests:

Online ordering is the preferred method for placing a request for transcripts.

Electronic Transcript:

Official Emory University Transcript delivered in a secure certified PDF document. In most cases Electronic Transcripts are delivered within minutes of placing your order. It is the responsibility of the requestor to verify that the recipient will accept delivery of an Electronic PDF Transcript. Also, to avoid potential problems with spam filters, please instruct recipients to allow emails from Avow Systems (addsmail.com).

Notes:

  • This is the fastest, most secure, and environmentally friendly method to request your transcript.
  • Transcript requests will not be processed for students with financial obligations to the University. Please contact Student Financial Services at 404-727-6095.
  • Students who last attended prior to 1990 will not be able to use this method of delivery.

Paper Transcript

is an official Emory University Paper Transcript delivered on security paper. Transcript requests for paper copies are normally processed within two business days of receiving your request. Please allow additional processing time for legacy records prior to fall 1990.

  • Express Mail delivery requires a physical address as FedEx does NOT deliver to P.O. Boxes.
