Veterans Educational Benefits
General Information:
The Office of the Registrar serves as the Certifying Official to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of Emory University. Veterans and the dependents of Veterans who are eligible to receive benefits will work with the Veterans Benefits Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar to:
- assist veteran students with the processing of VA forms
- advise veteran students, when appropriate, about certain procedural requirements
- certify enrollment of Emory veteran students to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
VETERAN STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY
- New, first time at Emory veteran students must contact the University Certifying Official and,
- Please submit the following two documents to the Certifying Official in the Registrar's Office.
- Each term after enrollment (and before add/drop ends), notify the Certifying Official in writing that you are enrolled. Please do not assume that we know you are enrolled.
- You MUST notify the school Certifying Official if you:
- Used all of your Veteran Educational Benefits
- Change course load or Program of Study
- Withdrew from classes (after start of term)
- Terminate enrollment (before start of term)

TO ACTIVATE YOUR VA BENEFITS AT EMORY
- Contact the Dept of VET AFFAIRS to determine and activte your benefits
- Contact the certifying official in the Registrar's Office
- Complete the Veterans Enrollment Data Form

VETERAN STUDENTS SHOULD CONTACT THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS REGIONAL OFFICE DIRECTLY IF:
- You have questions about your educational benefits or eligibility
- You have inquiries about payment status from the VA to Emory University
- You would like to change your benefit election
